The Village Hall

From the 1920s to 1993, Eastling villagers’ principal meeting place was a converted First World War military hut acquired from the former Throwley aerodrome and erected on land opposite the School in Kettle Hill Road.

Residents decided that they wanted a new village hall and, strongly supported by the Parish Council, formed a Steering Group and Fund Raising Committee.

With over £40,000 raised locally, public grants totalling £134,500 and a gift of land by the late Lord Harris, building work started in December 1997 and the new Hall opened on September 5 1998.
