About People

In the Eastling Appraisal survey we asked about gender and age ranges. From the forms returned by a total of 82 households, it seems the women slightly outnumber the men.

The two largest age groups - by far - comprise 25 to 44-year-olds and 45 to 64-year-olds. (The National Census later this year will provide a more comprehensive picture.)

Length of residency in Eastling

We asked how long people had lived in Eastling. A third of people had been here less than four years. Just under a third had lived in the parish for 21 years or more. Nearly 37% had been here between five and 20 years.

Main reason for living in Eastling

When it came to saying why they chose to live in Eastling, half the people in the Survey said it was the prospect of a small village and fine countryside.

Where the adults in our Parish originally come from.

Over 50 adults in the Survey could claim to be from the parish or nearby area. A similar number traced their “roots” to London or elsewhere in Kent.
