Use of Leisure Time

Leisure in the village

Top leisure activities for Eastling residents seem to be watching television, gardening and local walks - followed by DIY and activities involving the church or hall.

Hobbies included: computing, needlework, carpentry, painting, singing and amateur dramatics.

Ideas for local leisure

A number of people had suggestions for leisure activities in the village and said they would support them.

These included:

  • keep fit (suggested by 4 people);
  • a cricket club (4);
  • a youth club (4);
  • tennis facilities (2);
  • various sports pitches (3);
  • a local walking group (3);
  • more children’s activities (2);
  • dog training (1);
  • discos (1);
  • an over-60s group (1);
  • badminton (1);
  • table tennis (1);
  • horse riding activities (1) and
  • slimming classes (1).

Whilst not a scientific measure of local interest, maybe these are ideas people would wish to pursue further.
